Germany is renowned for tuition-free or low-cost higher education at top-ranked public universities. Most public Master programmes are taught in English and charge only nominal semester contributions (EUR 150–350), which usually include public transit passes.

Living expenses average EUR 900 to EUR 1,200 per month. To obtain a student visa, Nepali students must open a Sperrkonto (Blocked Account) deposited with EUR 11,208 per year, which is paid back in monthly installments of EUR 934.
