Applications go through the national portal, universityadmissions.se. Your admission is conditional until you pay the first tuition instalment.
Nepal is NOT an apostille country. Documents must go through: Issuing Authority → MoEST → MoFA. Allow 2–4 weeks. Translations to Swedish or English may be required for anything not already in English.
Non-EU/EEA students apply for a Residence Permit for Studies directly through the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket), online via their e-service or on paper — not through an embassy application. Your place at university is conditional until your first tuition instalment is paid.
Nepal falls under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi for residence-permit biometrics — Sweden's honorary Consulate General in Kathmandu has limited services and typically cannot process this step.
Swedish student housing is competitive in the major university cities — apply for accommodation as early as possible, ideally before your permit is finalized.
